Traditionally, an elopement involves just the two of you or a very small number of guests, while a micro wedding usually includes a slightly larger gathering of family and friends.
But I don't believe your wedding needs to fit into a particular category.
Perhaps it's just the two of you exchanging vows on a mountainside, or ten of your favourite people gathered around a beautifully laid table afterwards.

Can We Legally Elope in France, Mallorca or Italy?
One of the most common questions couples ask when planning a destination elopement is whether their wedding ceremony will be legally recognised.
The legal requirements for marriage vary between France, Spain (including Mallorca) and Italy, depending on your nationality, residency and personal circumstances.
Many international couples choose to complete the legal formalities separately, often in their home country, before travelling abroad for their wedding celebration.
This gives you the freedom to have a beautiful, personal celebrant-led ceremony in a location of your choice.
As an independent wedding celebrant, I create symbolic wedding ceremonies rather than legally binding marriages. This means your ceremony can be built entirely around you, with personal vows, meaningful readings, an exchange of rings and whatever traditions or rituals feel right.
And although the legal paperwork may happen elsewhere, your celebrant ceremony can still be the moment you consider your wedding day — surrounded by extraordinary scenery, exchanging promises you'll remember for the rest of your lives.
